AEC Marketing · Engineering Storytelling
Matthias Leyrer
Designer. Writer. Placemaker.
I help engineering firms turn complex projects into clear, compelling stories—coordinating the words, visuals, and production that connect communities to the work.
About
Bridging technical work and public understanding
I’m a designer and writer who builds narratives around civil infrastructure and community projects. My background is in visual communications for an engineering firm—where the challenge is rarely “more content,” and almost always “make this make sense.”
Engineering Storytelling means owning the through-line: discovering what matters, shaping the script, coordinating production partners, and delivering work that serves clients, stakeholders, and the public.

What I do
Engineering Storytelling
Complex projects need more than a press release. I coordinate the pieces—discovery, script, production, and delivery—so engineering work becomes a story people can follow and trust.
01
Discover
Listen to engineers, clients, and communities. Surface the stakes, constraints, and human impact worth telling.
02
Script
Shape a clear narrative arc—accurate to the technical work, accessible to non-experts, aligned with project goals.
03
Coordinate production
Bring together video, design, animation, photography, and stakeholders so every asset serves the same story.
04
Deliver
Ship finished content for outreach, proposals, websites, and stakeholder communications—on brand and on brief.
